Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta is the national mathematics honor society for high schools and two-year colleges. Its mission is to promote scholarship, leadership, service, and a love of mathematics through competitions, tutoring, and academic enrichment.

James S. Rickards High School, Mu Alpha Theta emphasizes:

• Mathematics excellence through rigorous competition and problem solving.
• Leadership development by allowing students to serve as officers, captains, and event organizers.
• Community service by providing after-school math tutoring to fellow Rickards students.
• Teamwork and school pride through statewide and national competitions.
• Hosting one of Florida's premier math tournaments—the annual Rickards Fall Invitational.
